The Leitenkammerklamm in the Wildgerlostal valley is an impressive natural monument of great geological significance and was officially placed under protection in 2002. Over a distance of around 100 meters, the glacier-fed white water carves its way through the 5 to 20 meter wide gorge. Towering rock faces, washed-out rock formations, whirlpools, and pools impressively demonstrate the power of water and characterize the unique landscape of this gorge.
From Finkau, you can reach this natural spectacle in about 30 minutes on foot via an easily accessible path. With sturdy shoes, some drinking water, and sun or rain protection, you will be well prepared. Along the way, viewpoints offer exciting insights into the depths of the gorge and make the short walk an impressive summer experience.
The Habach Valley in the Hohe Tauern mountains near Bramberg is unique in Europe: it is home to the only emerald deposit in Europe.
